Well I really thought that Marlon was going to get to go home today. He has been doing great the past few days, less pain, less itchiness, and less crankiness. This morning they did a blood test to see how Marlon's white blood cell count was, and it is still elevated. This, on top of the fact that he had a slight fever this AM made the doctor decide to keep him an extra day. Marlon hasn't had a fever in days and somehow on the day he was supposed to be discharged he had a fever again... go figure.
Marlon slept away the morning after being tuckered out by the mayhem of a bed bath and dressing change. This afternoon Chad and Shelly came by to visit Marlon. I am sure that Wilmer, Juana and Marlon are enjoying my presence but I think new faces were a welcome sight! Marlon showed Chad and Shelly how fast his toy car drives, how his stuffed animal can drive the car, and how it can carry a handful of crayons. Shelly and I colored with Marlon while Chad took Wilmer and Juana to get dinner. Hopefully Wilmer and Juana enjoyed a great last dinner in what should be their last night in the Medical Center.
Please keep Marlon in your prayers as we prepare to leave the hospital. Please pray that his transition from hospital to home would be a smooth one and that he continues to heal well. Thanks for all your love and support!
