Well thanks for all the prayers! Marlon and his parents had a great night. They all slept really well and were smiling and cheerful when I got there this morning.
After a pleasant morning we turned Marlon on his side and noticed that his dressing was more bloody usual. Conveniently the doctor happen to come by about that time and we discovered that Marlon had a small hematoma (blood clot underneath the skin for you non-medical people). So the doctor proceded to squeeze and squeeze Marlon's very sensitive surgical site until the hematoma stopped bleeding. At one point the doctor said, "Mejor afuera que adentro," which means, "better out than in..." apparently that is a saying in Spanish as well. Though here in the third world we usually use that saying to refer to a different kind of gastroinestinal problem...
Anyway, I digress, after Marlon's torchure he tuckered out and slept away the afternoon. This evening we colored in Marlon's new coloring book, played racecar around his bed, and watched a documentary on monkeys. When I told him that the particular monkey that we were watching was called a Chimpanzee he told me, "No Meredith, its called a monkey!" I tried to explain to him that there are different types of monkeys, he wouldn't have any of it though... So finally we settled on calling it a monkey... What can I say? I couldn't win!
Thanks for all the prayers! I promise, we can feel every one of them. Also, please keep the prayers coming... were not through the woods yet.
