After hastily fashioning a pair of lungs for baby Resusci-Annie out of a red and white striped plastic bag and a hair band, Alli and I embarked on a new adventure this week!
Our tías (aka care providers at the children's home) have been receiving training on various topics related to child care over the past few months. This week it was my turn to teach the tías first aid and CPR. Thanks to a generous friend in Houston we even had adult and baby Resusci-Annies with which to complete the task.
The tías were a little timid at first when I informed them that, yes, there were in fact going to have to practice giving the mannequins mouth to mouth. But after some role playing and awesome over the top dramatizations, on Alli's and my part, we got the tías to come out of their shells! The tías did an excellent job acting out the scenarios and some first rate CPR!
