A couple of months ago I blogged about my 4 year old friend, Marlon. At the end of February I took him to the capital to receive clearance, from his pediatric cardiologist, to have GI surgery. Well after lots of planning and phone calls (mainly on Alli's part) Marlon is now scheduled for GI surgery this Wednesday, May 14th. Want to hear something amazing? The nicest, most state of the art, snobbiest private hospital in Honduras has offered to cover all of the expenses for Marlon's surgery. All the mission has to pay for are medications and the post op hospital stay! Amazing, right? It is so reassuring to see Hondurans helping other Hondurans. God is definitely at work down here!
This surgery will be the first of three. I won't lie; Marlon is a sick kid. These surgeries are going to be hard on him, but I know that our God is greater than sick hearts and underdeveloped intestinal tracts. Since we met Marlon, God has been doing amazing things with this family. God blessed Marlon with two committed parents, who love each other, who love him and who are now even learning to love God. Marlon's mom. Juana. was baptized two weeks ago and now Marlon's dad, Wilmer, is processing it all and starting to ask the tough questions.
Please, please keep the Herrera family in your prayers. Please pray that the surgery goes well and quickly. Please pray that the surgeons are able to do everything that they need to do without taxing Marlon's sick, little heart. Please pray that Marlon and his family would see and feel His ever present love and peace through out all of this.
Please pray for Marlon at 7 am (MDT) on Wednesday, May 14th

yes... I will pray for this sweet little boy and his family; for healing, and strength, and an every growing relationship with our father.
thanks for the time you take for sharing with so many, the stories and pictures, the joys and struggles of the people you are connecting with in Southern Honduras.
Praise God for Marlon's family! I'll be thinking and praying for him too on Wednesday morning.
