Update on Aleyda

Ok, I haven't updated on Aleyda because things haven't been going so well. After surgery Aleyda had some some respiratory difficulties. They had trouble with her chest tubes and couldn't keep the fluid from collecting on her lungs. The MDs decided to re-intubate her and she was on the ventilator for 2 weeks! Last Thursday the MDs were finally able to wean Aleyda off of the ventilator. This past weekend she got to down grade (or up grade, depending on how you see it) from the ICU to a private room and had her chest tubes removed as well. It seems she has turned a corner! Praise God!

Aleyda is now up and walking, though still experiencing quite a bit of pain. With the surgery behind her, she now has to focus on the grueling physical therapy schedule ahead of her.

Please continue to keep Aleyda and her recovery in your prayers.

Good to hear that there is no more fluid in her lungs! I will be praying that the rest of her recovery goes smoothly.
